Calverley Grounds on a wet and windy day ...

The day of my first visit to Calverley Grounds was well chosen (cue manic laughter), being arguably one of the wettest for ages.  On the plus side, at least it gave me an insight into the rainwater runoff on site.  Just a shame I didn't take a towel!  The following photographs were taken during the few, brief, minutes when the rain eased off.

Seasonal(?) pond near main entrance

Darker stripe of grass possibly delineating an underground water course (and decorative rainspot)

Large, shallow pool on the former bandstand site

Did this area flood when the bandstand was in situ?

Puddle by storage(?) facility

Water pools under benches, coming from drainage pipes set into the slope behind

Typical drainage pipe
