Vampire garden

Well, I suspect like everyone else, December's been a very busy and, at times, stressful month with blogging unfortunately coming low down the priority list.

Whilst looking for a file on my computer I stumbled across this animation, an assignment from a previous a course 'Digital Landscapes' taught by David Watson.  Created using a mixture of AutoCAD and Bryce, it's incredibly clunky in places but I've got a bit of a soft spot for it ...

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the torches to flame during the main animation and after upgrading AutoCAD have lost the option of exporting to 3DS files; I suspect that this may be version-dependent.  If anyone knows or can offer a solution please let me know 'cos I'd love to be able to use this again.

  1. Hi Isabel

Hope things are going well and you didn’t work too hard over Christmas. It gets easier after Christmas!
I have been watching for a new 3DSOUT patch for autoCAD 2010 and later for autoCAD2011 but as far as I am aware there is no intention on Autodesk’s part to reinstate the 3DSOUT facility.
I was interested to see that David Watson still has the Bryce unit in the 2009-2010 Digital Landscape course. He may have a work around for autoCAD to Bryce, but all those I have tried have been naff! I must get around to sending him an email.
All the best for the new year.
    Regards

  2. Thanks for commenting Paul.

Hope all's well with you too. Having seen your final designs for this course I'm quite daunted! There's obviously still a LOT of hard work ahead ...

Belatedly, I've realised that SketchUp is probably now a more realistic option than AutoCAD - just need to find the time to play with it ...
